Welcome to Sea Shelter, a beautifully refreshed coastal home tucked into a peaceful York, Maine neighborhood and just a short walk from the privately deeded shores of Cow Beach.

Recently updated with new furniture, fresh paint, thoughtfully selected décor, and refreshed furnishings throughout, Sea Shelter has been lovingly prepared to welcome a new chapter of vacationers. With more than 3,300 square feet of living space, accommodations for up to 10 guests, and a spacious private yard, this inviting home offers plenty of room for families and friends to relax, reconnect, and enjoy life along the Maine coast.

From the moment you arrive, Sea Shelter feels less like a traditional vacation rental and more like a true family home by the sea. Comfortable gathering spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, multiple areas to spread out, and thoughtful details throughout make it easy to settle in for long summer days, quiet mornings, family dinners, board games, and evenings spent together.

One of Sea Shelter’s most special features is its access to Cow Beach, a peaceful rocky stretch of coastline located within walking distance of the home.

Privately deeded to Sea Shelter and a small number of neighboring families, Cow Beach offers a wonderfully quiet place to experience the Maine coast away from the bustle of the larger public beaches. Bring your morning coffee, settle in with a book, explore the shoreline, wade into the water, or simply sit and take in the salt air and beautiful coastal surroundings.

Because this is a privately shared beach area, guests are asked to enjoy it respectfully and preserve the peaceful atmosphere that neighboring families have enjoyed for generations.

Sea Shelter is also filled with personal touches that make the home especially meaningful.

Throughout the house, guests will discover a collection of approximately two dozen original watercolors and an oil painting created by Judy Simkins Wilkinson, the owners’ mother and grandmother. Inspired by the New England coastline, nature, wildlife, flowers, landscapes, and a beloved New Hampshire lake, her artwork adds warmth and history to nearly every room.

Some pieces remain exactly as she left them, including unfinished paintings where pencil sketches are still visible beneath the watercolor. Rather than hiding these imperfections, the family has lovingly framed and displayed them as part of the story of Sea Shelter.

Sea Shelter has been furnished and cared for with the hope that every guest who walks through the door feels comfortable, welcomed, and completely at home.
